The iron man

 This week we have been writing our own dramatic story openers, for our own Iron Man. We had designed our metal men and described them using powerful words and similes. Once we had written our openers, we used these and our iron man designs to create some animations. We hope to share them here soon!

Patterns and portraits!

Look at our fabulous compositions! We took our patterns and replicated them, before adding a self portrait. We used paint, oil pastels, wax crayons and Miss BB's special set of skin tone crayons. What do you think? 

Owl pellet investigation

Because it was raining cats and dogs this afternoon, we had our learning outdoors in the classroom! We investigated some owl pellets to see if we could find out what they had been eating. Evie had brought them back from Happisburgh owl saunctuary, so they are birds in captivity. We will compare with wild owls when Miss BB finally gets some pellets!

Where did they come from? Nobody knows...

What a surprise we got this morning when we Mrs Smith told us that something strange had appeared on the playground. We had no idea what they were, but we had lots of different ideas about what they could be and where they came from. 

We thought it may have come from outer space or the sky, but we were very unsure about the sand. The parts looked like bits of machines and some of them looked like body parts.

The more we looked, the more kept noticing different things.

We heard the beginning of a story, which you can see here, about an iron man. We imagined we found the parts at the bottom of the cliff and freeze-framed our emotions. 

Finger Twister!

We have just started a week of inspirational maths! Today we learned that there is no such thing as a maths brain and that anyone can learn to do maths. Sometimes we find it easier than others, but anyone can do it!

So today we looked at some dots for a few seconds, then we had to say how many there were, how we knew and how we saw them. Lots of them saw them differently! How do you see them?

After that we had to maths games that made our brains, eyes. ears and bodies work together. We liked finger twister the best!
