Sorcova

This week we have been thinking about our Christmas traditions. We also learned about traditions in other countries. We found out how Saint Nicholas leaves coins in the shoes of good children and coal or sticks if you have been bad! We learned about the Feast of Epiphany today and how it is a celebration of the visitors to the baby Jesus.

We have also learned about traditions in Romania. This afternoon we made our own Sorcova, which children would make in the new year in Romania. They take twigs from fruit trees and decorate them with flowers, to bring good luck.
